Everyday we are so busy with work, home and many other things, we neglect the most important part of our body – our mind.  Lots of people are feeling stressed out that they are having problem sleeping and not able to concentrate on their work. So for our first topic, I would like to touch on meditation.

What is Meditation and how can it help me?

Meditation is to bring our mind to a state of consciousness and awareness.  When we meditate, we quiet down our mind so that we can focus better and be blissful as there are thousands of thoughts running wild in our mind all the time. Meditation also help us to be aware of our positive and negative thoughts.  When you are aware of your negative thoughts, you can then filter it away so that it will not bring about stress, worries and frustration.

How do I Meditate?

Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed for a while, about 10 to 15  minutes.  Sit comfortingly and up straight to prevent your mind from becoming sluggish or sleepy.  Relax and breath deeply and slowly.  Bring your focus and awareness to your breathe.  Concentrate on listening to your breathe as it goes  in your nose and out through your mouth.  If you find your attention wandering off, never mind, just acknowledge it and gently re-focus back on your breathing.  Repeat this for as many times as necessary until your mind is focused on your breathe.

As you practice meditation regularly, you will find that your distracting thoughts will subside and you will experience peace and relaxation.

    Hi Cynthia,

Meditation in its simplest form is as follow:

    Eat is Eat,
    Drink is Drink,
    Sleep is Sleep,
    Work is Work,
    Play is Play….etc…

The next level will be ” Sleeping Next to a Waterfall. ”

    Cheers!
